Keep Track of Every Pig with Our GD Engineering Pig Signallers
Pigging is an essential part of keeping pipelines operating safely and efficiently. But once a pig enters the pipeline, operators need to know where it is, when it passes key locations, and whether it has reached its destination.
That’s why we offer a choice of GD Engineering pig detection technologies, including the intrusive Hi-T Pigalert™ alongside the non-intrusive Hi-T Magalert™ and Hi-T Ultralert™ systems. Our range is designed to give operators greater visibility throughout cleaning, maintenance, and inspection activities.
Know where your pig is
Pipeline operators make significant investments in pigging programmes and inspection technologies. Reliable detection helps protect that investment by confirming pig launch, passage, and arrival.
By giving operators accurate information about pig movement, our GD Engineering pig signallers can reduce operational uncertainty, support safer decision-making, and provide confidence that important maintenance and inspection activities are progressing as planned.
Choose the right detection technology
Different pipelines and operating environments call for different approaches, so we offer both intrusive and non-intrusive detection.
Our Hi-T Pigalert™ is a robust intrusive solution for scraper and sphere signalling applications. It provides visual and electrical indication of pig passage and is available in pressure classes up to ANSI Class 2500. The design has been extensively tested with inline inspection pigs and approved for use on critical pipeline infrastructure.
Where penetrating the pipeline wall isn't desirable, our Hi-T Magalert™ and Hi-T Ultralert™ provide non-intrusive alternatives. Using magnetic and ultrasonic detection principles respectively, they can detect, signal, and record pig passage externally.
From local detection to remote monitoring
Our non-intrusive pig signallers can be installed permanently or deployed as portable units, giving operators flexibility in how and where they monitor pig movements.
Designed for onshore and offshore applications, they incorporate event logging so pig passage data can be recorded and reviewed. Relay and MODBUS connectivity, together with optional GSM communications, can also support remote monitoring where required.
