Celeros FT joins ‘Canadians for CANDU’ campaign to accelerate nuclear technology adoption

09/09/24

We have joined forces with world-leading project management and engineering services company AtkinsRéalis to support the widespread deployment of CANDU nuclear technology. This exciting collaboration enables us to significantly contribute to Canada’s efforts to achieve net-zero emissions at home and abroad.

CANDU technology is one of Canada’s most important innovations and remains the nation’s only domestically developed and licensed nuclear technology. Using natural uranium, it is the only nuclear power technology that coproduces the medical isotopes that are used in cancer-fighting treatments. The current CANDU fleet in Ontario also produces 50% of the world’s supply of Cobalt-60, which is used for medical device sterilization.[1] The Canadians for CANDU campaign seeks to promote the technology’s unique benefits at home and abroad.

Ash Moham (pictured below), Celeros FT Sales Manager, has been newly appointed as the Canadians for CANDU Ambassador and he’s proud of our role in supporting net-zero aspirations.

“We’re honoured to be a part of the Canadians for CANDU campaign and aiding the global energy transition, encouraging further adoption of nuclear technologies and new job opportunities in brings in Canada”

We’ll be working closely with AtkinsRéalis to leverage our complementary areas of expertise to support the CANDU campaign. AtkinsRéalis combines heritage and innovation to drive engineering and nuclear services for a sustainable future. President of Nuclear, Joe St. Julian, expressed gratitude towards Celeros FT for their leadership and endorsement of the CANDU technology, emphasising the potential to place Canada in the vanguard of clean energy on a global stage.
