Description
The Copes-Vulcan Top Guided Trim is a non-cage guided valve trim specifically engineered for process fluids containing debris, suspended solids, or slurries. Its top-guided plug design provides excellent alignment and stability, while avoiding the clogging issues often associated with cage-guided trims. This makes it ideal for abrasive, corrosive, or viscous fluid applications where reliability and durability are critical.
The trim features a rugged metal or Teflon top guide, ensuring long service life even in harsh environments. Its plug throttle design allows for effective flow control, while the absence of a cage maximizes flow area and minimizes pressure drop. However, it is not recommended for cavitating or flashing service and is best suited for applications with pressure drops up to 600 psi (4136 kPa).
