Description

The CAV-B9 trim is a specialized control valve trim developed by Copes-Vulcan, designed specifically for liquid service applications where low-level cavitation is present. Its stepped, radially drilled cage design is engineered to mitigate cavitation effects by directing the cavitation activity to the center of the cage, away from critical metal surfaces. This significantly reduces the risk of erosion, noise, and vibration, which are common issues in cavitating flow environments.

The trim operates by dividing the fluid into multiple low-energy jets, which dissipate energy more gradually and reduce the intensity of cavitation. This makes the CAV-B9 ideal for applications requiring precise flow control and long service life under moderate cavitation conditions. It is suitable for both flow-under and flow-over configurations, offering flexibility in system design.

The CAV-B9 trim is available for valve sizes 2 inches and larger, and can be customized to meet specific application requirements. It is part of the Copes-Vulcan General Service (GS) valve line, which is known for its rugged dependability and cost-effective performance in power and process industries
