The History of Plenty
1790
William Plenty, who originated from Southampton England, establishes a company for the making of ploughs and agricultural equipment for the local farming industry.
1885
Plenty steam machinery and engines are installed in Nordenfeldt's submarines.
Two are sold to the Turkish Navy and one to the Greek Navy. From this point, Plenty products gradually spread throughout the world and are found on all types of machinery.
1935
Our first Rotary Pumps are manufactured.
These pumps range from sturdy, cost-effective little units to great bunkering pumps which are universally renowned even today.
1965
Plenty introduce a range of Filters and Side Entry Mixers that go on to become market leaders.
Production on our Simplex Type S and Small Duplex Filters also begins around this time.
1968
Mirrlees Pumps is acquired, adding screw pumps to the Plenty range of positive displacement pumps.
1970
Plenty purchase the Swinney filtration products Simplex Type J and T.
1990
At the beginning of this decade, we start production of our Compact Backflushing Filters.
In 1999, T.I. Group (which owns Plenty) is purchased by Smiths Group.
2001
Plenty are purchased by SPX Corporation and become part of their fluid and filtration portfolio.
2010
The Plenty Twinro Pump range is certified for Russian Markets (RTN)
2015
SPX becomes SPX Flow
2020
Celeros Flow Technology
Following the spin-off of SPX FLOW’s Power & Energy brands, Plenty become part of Celeros Flow Technology.
