The Unbalanced Single Seat Port Throttling trim is a general-purpose cage guided trim for both on/off and modulating control. It is suitable for use in most non-abrasive/non-adhesive, compressible fluid services. This trim is generally used in moderate pressure drop and small size applications.
The port throttling plug modulates flow by uncovering ports in the cage. This cage porting produces the necessary pressure drop for flow control. The geometry of the ports can be varied to provide custom flow characteristics.
The design of the unbalanced plug offers the capability of tight shutoff for service temperatures exceeding 1000°F (537°C).
