Nearly a year has passed since ClydeUnion Pumps was honoured as the Company of the Year at the Scottish Engineering Awards. To commemorate this achievement, we partnered with Scottish Engineering to host a special gathering of our local engineering peers at our ClydeUnion Pumps' Glasgow site.
Delighted to welcome 22 attendees from a diverse range of engineering companies, our event commenced with a presentation highlighting the rich history of our ClydeUnion Pumps brand and our Glasgow site, which has been in operation since 1886. Our engineering team also shared insights into many of the exciting projects we are currently working on, with a special focus on energy transition. To conclude, James Duncan, runner-up for the Scottish Engineering Apprentice of the Year 2024 Award, shared his inspiring apprenticeship and graduate journey with ClydeUnion Pumps.
Attendees then donned safety gear for a guided tour of our manufacturing facility, including our newly refurbished test area. They had the unique opportunity to witness some impressive pump packages in their final stages before shipment to customers. The tour also offered a firsthand look at the challenges encountered during manufacturing, the solutions we have implemented and our forward-thinking approach to ensuring our facility is prepared for future growth. This interactive session sparked valuable discussions, allowing visitors to ask questions and share their own industry experiences.
Gary Walker, Director of Global Engineering Operations for Celeros Flow Technology, commented: “We at Celeros Flow Technology, are proud to continue fostering innovation and partnership within the engineering community and look forward to more opportunities to connect and grow together. We equally appreciate the extensive work that Scottish Engineering does in supporting and promoting Scottish Industry locally, nationally and internationally.”
The event concluded with a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for further conversations, knowledge sharing and collaboration among attendees.
